Melissa Intro:

We are excited to have everyone join us today! Can you believe that we are already halfway through March time is flying by! We had the privilege last week of having Lisa talk to us about the different ways how we prepare ourselves for success each day!

This week we are excited to have Kelly Beard join us as she discusses one of my favorite Company Core Values and how our values relate to our Customer Service as well as our Safety theme this month!
Take it away, Kelly!

Kelly: Hi everyone!  Welcome to this edition of the Inspired Call!

Has everyone adjusted to Daylight Savings yet?!  I am super excited about all the daylight but I definitely haven’t fallen asleep before midnight since Saturday! Coincidentally, yesterday was National Napping Day!  I wonder if they did that on purpose……Not sure if any of you got to celebrate napping but I know I could have used one!  Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day!  Hopefully, you can all enjoy some bangers and mash with your green beers and kiss some Irish people!  It’s really feeling like spring is right around the corner!  We’re starting to see some pollen down here in North Carolina!  And the carpenter bees are already swarming my deck!  I know our Texas, DC & Philly friends must be ready for warmer days!

I guess we should move on to some work stuff!  This week we’re highlighting the Penmarc Core Value Doing the Right Thing and how that relates to our Customer Service and Safety theme this month.

I wanted to remind everyone that despite any local restriction changes on mask guidelines, TCS and Penmarc still require all installers to wear masks while in a customer’s home.  We are continuing to follow the CDC guidelines and our service contract with TCS requiring masks to be worn.  TCS and the coordinators are setting that expectation with the customer to keep you and them safe.

We’ve been talking quite a bit the last couple of weeks about elfa sale fatigue!  We’ve been very blessed to have a busy elfa season but we know people are tired!  Our coordinators and billing specialists are definitely feeling it and we get to sit at a desk all day!  I’m sure you’re all feeling the physical toll at this point of working 5, 6, 7 days a week for 3 months straight.  I want to encourage all of you to remember to take care of yourselves, try to get enough sleep, eat lots of veggies, and drink plenty of water!  One of the best ways to take care of our customers is by taking care of ourselves first so we can think clearly, not rush, take all of our normal safety precautions while driving and when using ladders & tools.  And I just want to remind everyone that we still have another 4-6 weeks of being this busy!  Even though the elfa sale is over, we are still feeling the backlog of installs and tons of B2B work!

Now, who wants to work even more??!!  If anyone is interested in opening up some additional availability for the next few weeks to take advantage of this remaining volume, please let your market manager & coordinators know!  We could certainly use the help!!

I’m sure you'll love hearing me go on like I’m your mother to eat your vegetables and get plenty of sleep!  But we’ll move on to more fun stuff like Additional Services!
There’s always a lot of questions about this and so I thought I’d take a few minutes to let you know what the process should look like!
When the coordinators review the order - they are looking to see if TCS has noted any existing conditions.
  • If we see Bare Walls, you will see Demo NO in your notes to the installer.
  • If there is a standard demo, you will see Demo Standard.  We will attempt to verify with the customer if they are wood or wire
  • If there is an additional demo – the coordinators will check to make sure TCS has already calculated & collected the fees from the customer.  Coordinators will try to verify exactly what is existing and schedule additional time.  You will also see in the notes that the fees have been collected.
  • We will include any pictures in the files as well as any additional information in notes to installers.

Please make sure you are reviewing notes & plans the day before.  If you have any concerns about the time we’ve allowed or questions about what’s needed, call the coordinators!

If you get on-site and realize the existing conditions do not match your notes, please call TCS Installation Services before you start any work.  Their number is 800-317-9499.  They need to approve any additional demo or services before you start the work to ensure we are able to compensate you for your time.  The same goes if the customer is asking you to do something outside of your normal scope of work or what’s in your notes.  Trash haul away, full paint.
  • You don’t need to discuss the fees or costs with the customer.  TCS will handle all of that, directly with the customer.  You are just calling TCS to update them on your new scope of work.
  • In your tasks, please make sure you are answering that you called TCS, note who you spoke with, what was approved, etc.  The more information we have, the more accurately we can compensate you.
  • If you are unable to reach TCS, please call your coordinator and they will relay all of that information to TCS.

Tomorrow is Leadership Live at 10 am.  We have a great speaker, Kevin Johnson, if you’re able to join!

And make sure you take the safety quiz if you haven’t already and be eligible for a prize!  Marketing sent out a reminder email this morning!

Thanks, everyone for calling in today and for all your hard work in the field!  Hope everyone has a great week!
